Zora Lee Kennedy Pearson, known to friends as "Zoe," passed away on August 19, 2018 at the age of 82.
Zora was born in Brady, Texas on September 12, 1935. She married Clem Pearson, Jr, on November 6, 1954. As the wife of an Air Force pilot, she lived in Japan, Arizona, Florida, Utah, Texas, the Philippines, New York, and finally put down roots in Louisiana. Zora Lee was a feisty, beautiful, silly, fashionable little lady with a green thumb and magnificent vegetable garden; she delighted all who dined at her table. She told epic stories. She loved laughing, dancing, bowling, and most of all, her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Myrtle Kennedy; three brothers, Roy E. Kennedy, Leo J. Kennedy, and Houston S. Kennedy, Jr.; daughter, Cynthia Pearson Perkins; and grandson Kurt Perkins.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 64 years, Clem Pearson, Jr.; two children, Keith and wife Dianne Pearson, and Sharon and husband Michael Benbow; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Andy Donlon, Heather and husband Ryan Decker, Ryan and wife Taylor Pearson, Hank and wife Jenni Hughes, Ross Perkins, Nicole Perkins, McKenna Benbow and Garrett Benbow; 14 great grandchildren; as well as many other beloved family members in Louisiana and Texas.
A funeral service in memory of Zora will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Visitation for friends of the family will be held before the service from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
