Mrs. Zilda Mama Zil Landry Minx was a former resident of New Orleans and Metairie and moved to Baton Rouge with her family after Hurricane Katrina. She died on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, of pancreatic cancer at her home, surrounded by her family. Visitation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, La. 73, Prairieville, on Monday, Sept. 15 from 9:30 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Michael Alello. Burial in Hope Haven Cemetery, Prairieville. She is survived by a daughter, Gayle Burchfield, Baton Rouge; granddaughter, Robyn Burchfield, New Orleans; grandson, Courtney G. Weaver Jr., New Orleans; great-grandson, Christopher Mannerjahn, New Orleans; two sisters, Bernice Weaver and Rose Micaud, both of Baton Rouge; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Arthur M. Minx; parents, Pierce and Lucinda Landry; six brothers, Isaac, Al, Elmo, Gerald, Conely and Bradley Landry; and three sisters, Freda Delatte, Edrel Roy and Beatrice Fortenberry.
