William Jonathan Schexneider, 30, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 1:43 am at his home. Jonathan was called home after his 14 year battle with cancer. He is a resident of Baton Rouge, LA and a native of Opelousas, LA. Survived by parents Will and Rita Schexneider loving partner, Corey Kling sister, Lauren S. Arnaud and husband Chad brother, Trae Schexneider and wife Loli motherinlaw, Janice Kling sisterinlaw, Melissa Cougle and husband Marc nephew, Devon and nieces, Kelsey, Kylie, Adi, Carlee, Mary, Simone and Ryleigh. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Josephine Mouton, and Wilfred Schexneider Sr. and Joyce Trumps and fatherinlaw, Lynn Kling. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 5 pm to 9 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 8 am to 11:30 am with funeral services to follow after the visitation at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George, at 12:00 pm. A special Mass of Christ the King will be celebrated in memory of Jonathan Schexneider on Saturday, November 23rd at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas at 6:00 p.m. All are invited to the reception in the church hall following the Mass. Jonathan was born August 12, 1983. He graduated from Opelousas High School in 2001 and continued on to graduate from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2007 with a degree in political science and a minor in history. He worked at Spectrum Fitness as the Membership Director. Jonathan was truly one of a kind, he brightened the room with his infectious smile and laugh and always wanted everyone to be happy and have fun. His attitude and perspective on life will never be forgotten and will be a tool of inspiration for everyone. His spirit, love, and memories will be with us all and will never be forgotten. Jonathan was a very special person who touched so many lives. He was so caring and giving. He loved everyone and was always willing to go the extra mile in spite of his own trials and tribulations. He will be missed by so many who have been totally blessed for having him in our lives. Rest in peace. You are free of pain. We will see you again. We love you.
