Winifred Wagner

A resident of Denham Springs, she died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Ochsner Medical Center. She was 88 and a native of Nunnykirk, England. She was a veteran of the Royal Air Force during World War II, where she met her husband, Clarence, a Yankee sailor. After Clarence retired from the U.S. Navy, they resided in San Diego for 16 years, then relocated to Kerrville, Texas, where they resided for the next 30 years. A memorial service will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Denham Springs, on Friday, April 24, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Sam Houston National Cemetery with her husband. She is survived by three nieces, Lota Lamonica and husband John, Marilou Ballow, and Beth Alexander and husband Bill; two nephews, Hugh Wagner, and Bill Alexander and wife Cheryle; as well as numerous grandnieces, grandnephews and many dear friends in Kerrville. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Clarence D. Wagner; three brothers, John Percival, Kenneth Percival and Eddy Percival; sister, Margaret Mary Arrowsmith; and parents, John and Isabella. She was a judge and trainer for the San Diego Kennel Club.
