Joseph was born June 30, 1952, and passed away on January 8, 2022, at the age of 69 after a brief battle with cancer. Joseph’s passion was being outdoors enjoying wildlife. He loved fishing and hunting and was very knowledgeable about any kind of wildlife.
Joseph was retired from Illinois Central Railroad as a conductor with 33 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Smith Kling; two sisters, Juanita Davis and her husband Allen Davis, and Diane Ryan; Brother, sister and Sister-in-Law, Erwin and Karen Smith and Kay Smith Walock; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Wilton and Argeile Gautreax Kling; his brothers, Don J. Kling and Thaddeus Lynn Kling; Brother-in-Law James “Rhino” Ryan, and Mother and Father-in-Law Barbara and Erwin Smith.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 9:00 am until funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
