Wilma Kinchen Vernice, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Bayou Paul, LA, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at the age of 91. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, from 58 pm and Thursday, October 18, 2012, from 10 am until the religious service at 11 am. Burial will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Vernice, Sr. her parents, John and Mamie LeBoeuf Kinchen, Sr. five brothers and three sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Rosalind V. Rhodes Bill three sons, Bennie E. Vernice, Jr. Peggy, Gregory P. Vernice, and Roderick A. Vernice Tracie five sisters and three brothers six grandchildren, Tre Vernice, III, Ann Matassa Nick, John David Rhodes, Stephen G. Rhodes, Brian Paul Vernice and Mark Aaron Vernice Trudy and seven greatgrandchildren, Todd Sanchez, Jewel, Caitlyn and Chance Simmons, Bella Matassa, Mark and Riley Vernice and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Wilma was the eldest of 17 siblings. A special thanks goes to the staff of the Baton Rouge General Hospital, Carrington Place, especially Shayla Jones, and The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice.
