Wilma Beavers

Wilma Irene McConnell "Midge" passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the age of 92.

She was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II.

Midge is survived by her five children, Barbara Miller, Rosemary O'Connor, and David Beavers of Baton Rouge, LA, James Beavers of Houston, TX and Lee Anne Barnes of Sacramento, CA; two sons-in-law, Al Barnes, and Mike Miller; her nine grandchildren, Michael Broussard, Leslie Miller, Katie O'Connor, Scott O'Connor, Lindsey Lombard (Chris), Christopher Beavers, Jamie Beavers, Lynne Sloane (Brian), and Elizabeth Barnes; five great-grandchildren, Chloe Broussard, Becca Sloane, Megan Sloane, Zoe Lombard, and Ashlyn Johnson. She is also survived by three of her seven siblings, George Richard McConnell of Columbus, OH, Alma Lasure (Richard) of Titusville, FL, and Rita LeMasters of Zanesville, OH.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Grantland Arnett Beavers; her parents, George and Mary Moorehead McConnell; three brothers, David L. McConnell, Donald E. McConnell, and J. Daniel McConnell; and daughter-in-law, Carol Beavers.

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church in memory of Midge Beavers.
