Willie D. Maynor

Willie Dennis Maynor, a native of Robinwood, MS and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at the age of 88.  He gained his bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University, where he served as SGA President.  He received his Juris Doctorate from LSU Law School and spent his career as an Attorney at Law.   He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and the Louisiana Bar Association.  He enjoyed growing roses and watching LSU sports including Baseball and Football.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver D. Maynor, Sr. and Anne Mullins; siblings, Ida Mae Owens, Melvin Maynor, and Oliver Maynor, Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joyce Marie Sensat Maynor; children, Sarah Katherine Maynor, and Robert Francois Maynor and his wife Crystal; grandchildren, Lincoln, Emmett, and Greyson Maynor; brothers, Clarence Maynor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
