Willie Cole

Willie Mae Darbonne Cole, 87, passed away on May 11, 2013. Born on February 21, 1926, she graduated from Opelousas High School in the class of 1943. Willie Mae married James C. Cole on April, 6 1956 and they were married for 30 years. She worked as an accountant for Distributors Oil Company for 36 years. She enjoyed her retirement and spent most of her time working in her flower beds and going on occasional gambling bus trips with her friends. Survived by her son, Clint M. Cole daughterinlaw, Kathleen C. cole stepdaughter, Jaycine J. Cole brothers, LTC Ret Eugene R. Darbonne and Paul Creighton Darbonne and numerous loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, James C. Cole parents, Elenora Richard and Wilfred Darbonne brothers, Herman Darbonne, Clement Noah Darbonne halfbrothers, Mauril Carriere and Hilliard Carriere. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Monday, May 13, 2013 from 5 pm until 8 pm and will resume on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 9 am until service at 10 am.
