William Rayford Zumbro, a native of Baton Rouge, La. and resident of Livingston, La. passed away in his home on January 5,2024 at the age of 77. William, also known as Billy, enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, hiking, and going on vacations. You could always find him outside in his garden or flowerbeds growing something new! However, the thing he loved the most was being with his grandchildren, making memories that the family will cherish forever. William was a Christian husband, father, papaw, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed. He was a member of Redeemer Baptist Church, where he never missed a Sunday!
He is survived by his daughters Melissa Day and husband William E. Day, Melanie Sandifer and husband Gary Sandifer Jr., his sister Dee and David Everett, brother Neal and Phyllis Daves, His grandchildren Jane Daughdrill, William and Erin Daughdrill, Brie Sandifer, Allie Sandifer, Grant Sandifer, Ariyah Sandifer and he was papaw to many foster children.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years Carol Hinton Zumbro, his parents father Ellison R. Zumbro, mother Dorris Daves, stepfather B.E. Daves and infant son William R. Zumbro Jr.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
