William Louis Rome Sr. passed away on Tuesday, December 1 at Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA, five days after his 61st birthday. He is survived by his children Kayla Rome-Tate (Damien), Laura Rome LeBlanc (Travis), and William Louis Rome Jr. (Laura Parker); by his fiancée Dana Couvillion; grandchildren Hunter, Beau, Hallie, Briggs, and a granddaughter on the way; and by his brother John L. Rome (Andree) and sister Judy Rome Dodd (Alan). He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Marjorie Rome. "Cat Daddy," as he was known by his many friends, was an active member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He loved his children and grandchildren. He was an early riser, known for his 4 a.m. phone calls to tell his kids good morning. During his career in industrial construction he built countless friendships. He was a huge fan of LSU football and the Dallas Cowboys and looked forward to their games each week. Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2021. A second visitation will be in the funeral home chapel Tuesday December 7 from 9 a.m. until the funeral services at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers are Ronald Legendre, Steve Holland, Cal Fisher, Damien Tate, Travis LeBlanc, and Brandon Higgins.
