A resident of Baton Rouge and native of Auburn, AL, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at 4:30 p.m. at his home. He was 67 years old. He received his Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University in 1966. He began his career with Exxon in 1966 at the Baton Rouge Refinery and retired after 33 years as Site Manager of Exxon Chemical in Baton Rouge. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA on Monday, December 31, 2012, from 11 a.m. until service at 2 p.m. conducted by Phillip Willis. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Emilie Steffek Rainey three sons and daughtersinlaw: Will and Dionne Rainey, Chase and Sarah Rainey, and Kyle and Jessica Rainey a brother, Robert L. Rainey and wife, JoEllen four grandchildren: Steffek, Ashlyn, William III and Barrett Rainey. Preceded in death by his parents, Burrough Lloyd and Ruth Della Rainey. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and Board of Director of Cancer Services.
