A kind and generous person with a unique sense of humor which endeared him to those around him, he died peacefully on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Old Jefferson Community Care Center in Baton Rouge. He was 90. A native of New Orleans, he was born November 4, 1921, and was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the US Navy. He evacuated to Baton Rouge after Hurricane Katrina. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bella V. Polchow parents, William F. and Catherine M. Polchow and brother, Charles. E. Polchow. He is survived by his sister and brotherinlaw, Audrey and Bill Gallmann, of Baton Rouge, and sister and brotherinlaw, Rose and Paul Kerr, of Kenner. A memorial service will be held in New Orleans at a later date. A very special thank you to the kind and caring staff of Old Jefferson Community Care Center and Hospice in His Care.
