William Bill Oglesby entered the presence of the Lord on Sept 5, 2012, claiming the promise of his favorite scripture, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather, a man after Gods own heart. Born July 17, 1923, he was a native of McGehee, Arkansas, and a long term resident of Baton Rouge. He was a WWII veteran, serving in Europe. He received his engineering degree from LSU in 1948, and was an Exxon retiree. He was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class for nearly fifty years. He is survived by daughters, Carol Milner and husband Rusty of St. Louis, MO, and Ann Ault and husband Mike of Houston, TX son, John Oglesby and wife Ronnie of Baton Rouge, LA grandchildren, Matthew Milner and wife Jessie, Melissa Wallis and husband Mike, Jennifer and William Oglesby, Stephen and Benton Ault and greatgrandchildren, Beth and James Milner, Austin and Sydni Gilbers and Sophia and Mia Wallis. Preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Turner Oglesby and second wife, Mary Lee Williams Oglesby parents William and Bessie Oglesby and sister Marthann Dickert and husband Raymond. Visitation will be Friday, Sept 14, 2012 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, and will resume at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Dr on Saturday Sept 15, 2012 at 9 am until service at 10 am. Burial will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
