William Mckinney

William Hoyt McKinney, 82, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Spore McKinney sons, William Hoyt Billy Jr. and his wife, Debbie, and George Harvey McKinney sister, Sarah Ann Underwood and her husband, Eucellis grandchildren, Michael Hoyt McKinney and his wife, Hollie, Matthew Tyler McKinney and Claire Marie McKinney and greatgrandchildren, Kaylie Marie McKinney and Cameryn Rose Lucas. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Harvey and Lela Strickland McKinney and granddaughter, Heather Rose McKinney. Bill was born in Red Bay, Ala., joined the U.S. Navy in 1946, where he learned data processing. He spent his career in this field working for the Texas and Louisiana Farm bureaus. He was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, the American Legion, UCT, Data Processing Management Association, Navy Mutual Aid Association and Baton Rouge Round Table. Memorial visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. until memorial service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ken Carroll.
