William Mazilly

November 14, 1952 — January 13, 2014

William Bill Mazilly, 61, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 after complications due to the flu and pneumonia at Our Lady of the Lake. He was a native of Lake Charles, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Bill was an excellent businessman that took great pride in his work. He graduated from LSU with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Bill loved LSU football but most importantly, he adored his grandchildren and was an amazing father and stepfather to all his loving children. He is survived by his loving wife, Angee French Mazilly mother, Juanita Hanberry Mazilly and five wonderful and talented children, Chad Mazilly and wife Jessica, Casie Mazilly Moen and husband Matt, Evans Foster, Kimberly Foster and Joseph Foster. Bill was a loving PawPaw who enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren, Parker Mazilly, Annabelle Mazilly, Soren Moen, and he was anxiously awaiting arrival of new baby Moen. He is also survived by his brother, James Allen Mazilly, Jr. Jim and motherinlaw, Mrs. E.J. Shirley French. Bill was preceded in death by his father, James Allen Mazilly, Sr. and wife of 34 years, Carol Mazilly. Even after the passing of his first wife Carol, Bill remained close to her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, the Hoggs, the Garcias and the Lindbergs. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 5 pm to 8 pm and will resume on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Eastern Heights Baptist Church, 163 Louise Goode Rd., Dequincy, LA 70633, from 12 noon until funeral service at 2 pm, officiated by Paul Hammontree. Pallbearers will be Chad Mazilly and his son Parker, Matt Moen, Rodney Paul Mazilly, Charlie Page, Bubba Mey, Rodney Fleck, Mark Lindberg, Jared Perkins, Todd Carlson and Joseph Foster. Interment in Masonic Cemetery in Dequincy, LA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bill and Carols Art Cart care of Our Lady of the Lake Foundation, P.O. Box 84357, Baton Rouge, LA 70884.
