William King

December 8, 1937 — September 8, 2024

William Taylor King Jr, known to friends and family as Bill, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend that will be deeply missed by all that knew him. He was born on December 8, 1937, in Monroe, Louisiana where he attended Neville High School and Northeast Louisiana University (ULM). Bill had a distinguished career as a Financial Advisor in the Insurance/ Investment Industry where he worked for 47 years. He received numerous awards over the years for his achievements and contributions. He was an active member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church and was a respected member of the Baton Rouge community.

He had a passion for sports, specifically golf and football (especially his LSU Tigers!) and loved a good bottle of Johnny Walker Scotch. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Donna M Hillman King, and their four children, Kenton King, Courtney King Gonsoulin (Kent), Kelly Vanderlick Andrepont (Shane) and Robert J. Vanderlick Jr (Lori). He will be greatly missed by his beloved grandchildren Jacob Paul Andrepont (Julie), Kaleb Blake Andrepont (Casey), Jackson Taylor Gonsoulin (Amelia), Carson William King, Michael Wayne Andrepont (Rebekah), Claire Elizabeth Gonsoulin (Josh), Connor Phillip King (Sarah), Austin Paul Vanderlick, Lee Charles Gonsoulin, Katherine Routh Gonsoulin, Kinzie Hayes King and his greatgrandchildren Brooks Taylor Gonsoulin and Theodore Blake Andrepont. He is also survived by his sister, Donna King Platt, his nephew, William Todd Platt (Kim) and his great nieces and nephews, Ethan, Parker and Landon as well as many relatives and friends.

Bill touched everyone who knew him, and he had the most amazing smile. His friends and family remember him as a man with a strong faith in God which enabled him to be a patient leader with a steadfast demeanor.
