William James Huffmaster, Jr. passed away after a long, full, happy life on Friday, November 5th 2021. He was born on February 1, 1938 in Meridian, Mississippi. Bill founded Huffmaster and Associates, an engineering firm, in the 1970s, which serviced the petrochemical industry for over 25 years. He loved working with people and providing solutions to complex engineering issues with his company. Forever a patriot, he served in the National Guard and was a member of our local Masons organization. He was also a Shriner and a Jester.
Bill also loved all things outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, golf and spent much of his free time doing any and all of those things at his camp in Theriot and with his beloved friends at home. He loved life and lived it to the fullest but his greatest love of all was his wife of 55 years Ohnte Durbin Huffmaster. They were perfect companions and enjoyed each day together. Their marriage was a blessing and gift to them both. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Eunice Huffmaster, his in-laws, Norman and Lois Durbin, and son, William J. Huffmaster, III. He is survived by his wife, Ohnte Durbin Huffmaster, sister, Margaret Thompson, nephew Jimmy Thompson, niece Marcia McElroy and numerous family members on Ohnte’s side of the family. Bill was Loved by all of his family and friends. Visitation will take place on Tuesday November 9, 2021 at Resthaven Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A Masonic service will take place at 2:00 pm followed by a religious service.
