William Bill Harden,
resident of Prairieville and native of Baton Rouge, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014 at the age of 73. He was a saxophone player for the Jive Five, The Group, and numerous other bands in Baton Rouge. Bill retired from Exxon Mobile where he spent his career as an Electrical Design. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Bill is survived by his former wife and friend, Donnie Harden daughters, Sandy Sharon and husband Leland, and Melissa H. Jones sons, William Butch Harden, Jr. and wife Juana, Joey Harden and wife Cindy, and Randy Harden and wife Tonja eight grandchildren, Chad Harden, Amy Harden, Joey Harden, Jr., Cassie Guedry, Brandon Sharon, Chris Sharon, Chase Jones, and Alexander Jones and three greatgrandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Wilbur Harden and Elizabeth Inez Austin one sister, one brother, and soninlaw, Paul Jones.
Visiting hours will be observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 11:00 am until service time. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearer will be Tim Lamonica. Interment to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
