William James Billy Galloway passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Ascension Oaks Nursing Home. He was 86 years old. Born in Canton Miss., but raised in Baton Rouge, La, he served his country proudly as a SeaBee in WWII. He worked hard for his family at Kaiser Aluminum for 35 years. He was a loving husband, father, Grandpaw, and GreatGrandpaw who loved his music and sharing all his memories. He will be missed and loved always. He is survived by the wife he loved for 63 years, Mae Dell Sevier Galloway two daughters, Debby Bourgeois and husband Tim, and Patty Rounds and husband Rusty five grandchildren, Sarah Mendler and husband Miki, Amanda Melancon and husband Jerik, Lydia Haymon and husband Chris, Joshua Rounds and wife Angela, Chad Rounds and wife Kristi and nine greatgrandchildren, Dagan Bourgeois, Layne Melancon, Lyla Melancon, Anna Mendler, Jude Haymon, Cade Rounds, Ashton Rounds, Hudson Rounds, and Ava Rounds and one sister Bobbie Cedatol. Preceded in death by his parents James and Martha Galloway. Special thanks to the staff at Ascension Oaks for their compassionate care during the past year. Also a special thanks to the neighbors on Louisa Lane for all their kindness through the years, especially Winder and Libby Dunbar. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 9:30 am until religious services at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
