William Allen “Bill” Fisher, II, age 55, loving husband, father, son, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2023, after a hard-fought and courageous battle with cancer. Born February 14, 1968, and raised in Pensacola, Florida, he earned degrees at both Pensacola Junior College and Troy University. He moved to Prairieville, Louisiana in 1998, after accepting a position with Shell Chemical in Geismar.
Bill had an infectious smile and a love for life. He loved the outdoors, particularly hunting and spending time at “The Camp” with friends. He enjoyed traveling, attending festivals, cooking, and riding in the Spanish Town Mardi Gras parade – all activities that became even more meaningful to him once he met the love of his life, Deanna. He was an avid supporter of Deanna’s hibiscus hobby, as evidenced by their backyard full of beautiful plants and flowers.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Deanna Dufour Fisher; his son, Joshua Allen Fisher; his parents, William Allen “Bill” and Barbara Raines Fisher; his brother, Matt Fisher; as well as additional family Dustin and Jennifer Couvillon and their children Baylee (9), Britton (7), and Beckham (4).
The visitation will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held in Pensacola, Florida on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Pensacola Memorial Gardens, 7433 Pine Forest Road. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Elvin Leahman, Joshua Fisher, Matt Fisher, Dustin Couvillon, Chip Dejean, Donald "Jeff" Brady, Jamie Ledet, Tony Darst, and Wayne Meadows. The family would also like to express their gratitude to nurses Tameka Martin and Drew Ryals, who took such wonderful care of Bill.
