W.L. Bill Dupuy Sr. was born on Dec. 4, 1910, on a plantation in New Iberia and died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Jefferson Manor. He was 97 and a resident of Baton Rouge since 1950. He worked with and rode motorcycles with the late Howard Hughes in Houston during the 1930s where he met and married his beloved Suzy. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Dupuy Starling and her husband John; his son, W.L. Dupuy Jr. and his wife, Ellen; three grandchildren, Kyle William Albert and his wife, Susan, Amanda Jane Albert and Max Dupuy; and two great-grandchildren, Alexander Albert and Sophia Albert. He was preceded in death by his wife, Suzy; and all of his sisters and brother. The family would like to thank Dr. Susan Nelson for all her care and support throughout the years. A graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in New Iberia on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Pat Wadesworth
