William Connors, Jr

William R. Connors passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at his home in Baton Rouge. Bob was born in Pensacola, Fla., on Dec. 5, 1946, to Katie and William Connors. He was a retired founding partner of LB Transport and was recently engaged in the chemical brokerage industry. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran. Preceded in death by his father, William Connors; and wife, Theresa Nixon Connors. He is survived by a daughter, Shannon Paige Kelley and her husband, Kevin David Kelley; grandson, Connor Ashby Kelley; mother, Katie Connors; sisters, Sue and her husband, Bill Kelley, and Pat and her husband, Richard Oubre; sister-in-law, Celeste Clark and her husband, Frank; and nephews, Corey Clark and 1st Lt. Ryan Clark, U.S. Marine Corps. Bob was an accomplished businessman and known for his dry wit and charitable benevolence. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 3 p.m. until a memorial service to celebrate Bob's life at 6 p.m. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin D. Kelley, Brad Kelley, Earl Kelley, Frank Mathews, Frank Clark, Corey Clark, Ryan Clark and John Henchy.
