William Colvin

Our beloved son and brother, William Bates Colvin, died unexpectedly at his home on June 2, 2021.  Billy was born in Baton Rouge on March 4, 1982 and was a lifetime resident.  He is survived by his father Keith Colvin and stepmother Karen Colvin; his mother, Kay Bates, and maternal grandmother, Gwen Bates; his fiancé Abby Hayes; his brother Charlie Colvin (Jackie), his sister Mary Cassidy (Ben), his stepbrother Chris Allen (Sarah), and stepsister Katie Thompson (Cory); and by nine nieces and one nephew.  Billy was kindhearted, generous, and loving to all who knew him, and he was loved by all in return.  He loved sports, especially football and baseball, and in recent years took a serious interest in playing guitar and painting.  He especially loved family gatherings and celebrations.  He faced more than his share of difficulties in life, and always accepted responsibility and never blamed others.  Billy was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and had faith and trust in Christ’s promise of everlasting life.  He will remain in our hearts, loved and remembered, until one day we meet him again.  His funeral will be private and for immediate family only and is scheduled for Monday, June 7, 2021, with burial immediately after.  In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the charity of your choice in Billy’s name.
