A resident of Baton Rouge, he died peacefully at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Heritage Manor. He was 89, a native of Baker and U.S. Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, June 7, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. and Wednesday in the chapel from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by Deacon Larry Melancon. Entombment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Survived by his wife, Effie M. Cambre sister, Ella Mae Melancon and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Linda Guidry Cambre three sisters and two brothers.
