William Briggs

William (Bill) was born July 15, 1929 in Vivian, Louisiana to William Bonner Briggs, Sr. and Lillian Allen Briggs. Bill passed away on September 5, 2016.

Bill graduated from Vivian High School and Louisiana Tech University. He served in the Air Force and Navy. His professional life was spent in claims adjusting where was a claims supervisor at Farm Bureau Insurance Company for many years until his retirement. He is a Master Mason and was a long time member of Sherwood Forest Country Club where he enjoyed many rounds of golf with his golfing buddies.

Services celebrating the life of William B. Briggs, 87, will be held at 12:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana with the Reverend Ken Carroll officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m. at Broadmoor United Methodist Church where he has been a member for many years.

He is survived by his son, William David Briggs and wife Barbara; his daughter, Terri Briggs DuCote; his granddaughter, Kelly Briggs Henderson and husband Tyler; his grandson, William Patrick Briggs; and his great-grandchildren, Harper Kelly Henderson and James Patrick Henderson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret Raines Briggs; and loving son-in-law, Gregory J. DuCote.

Honoring Bill as Pallbearers will be Jim Jasek, Steve Ward, Dallas Ballmer, Daniel Morrow, Tyler Henderson, and Will Briggs.
