Boots departed on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. She was 86. A member of The Greatest Generation, she accompanied her husband, Clinton, when he was in various ports during his World War II service in the Coast Guard. In later life, she served the Baton Rouge community as a talented licensed florist. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Boots is survived by her daughter, Dundie Pettigrew Frideley son, Clinton Gary Pettigrew daughterinlaw, Louise Willett Pettigrew brother, Phillip Rush Haley II and grandchildren, Colter Frideley, Eamon Pettigrew, Chad Frideley, Clint Frideley, James Prescott and Shelby Stamm. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Clinton Samuel Pettigrew an infant son, Todd Benton Pettigrew father, Phillip Rush Haley mother, Lessie Clement Haley and brothers, Bob Haley and Douglas Haley. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church
