Greater love has no one than this, than one lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 Wayne Gaston Hebert II, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend, stepped into eternity with God on Saturday, June 15, 2013, in his birthplace and hometown of Baton Rouge. Gaston was a positive inspiration and a joyful expression of love in both word and deed. Born on November 5, 1968, Gaston graduated from Christian Life Academy in 1986, and completed his undergraduate studies at Centenary College of Louisiana in 1990, where he was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. He received his MBA from Louisiana State University in 1995. A resident of Austin, Texas, Gaston served as National Director of Higher Education at Enterasys Networks. Previous to that position, he was employed for 14 years at St. Edwards University in Austin. Gaston enjoyed watching LSU sports, snow skiing, hiking the Grand Canyon, boating on Lake Travis, playing backyard bocce ball and barbecuing with family and friends. He was also a singer, songwriter and guitarist. Gastons genuine compassion and concern for others was demonstrated in his gift of encouragement and devotion to family, friends, and even to complete strangers. His exuberance for life and his funloving nature brought enthusiasm and optimism into every situation. Through many kind acts and thoughtful gestures, Gaston always took the time to make others feel special and included. Sociable, goodnatured, charming and playfully mischievous, as a high school senior, Gaston was somehow voted by his peers Mr. Christian Life Academy, Most Attractive Senior Boy, and Wittiest, all in the same year. He also reportedly holds the record for the most tardies in a single school year, since all who knew him realize that punctuality was not his strongest asset. Gaston will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by Nicol Lalumandier Hebert, his wife of 15 years and the love of his life devoted parents, Earline and Wayne Hebert adoring sister and brotherinlaw, Melanie Hebert Sanders and Howard Sanders fatherinlaw and motherinlaw, Larry and Sharon Lalumandier sisterinlaw, Jacques Lalumandier, brotherinlaw, Kent Lalumandier, sisterinlaw and brotherinlaw, Mary Louise and J.B. Mansur and admiring nieces and nephews, Michelle and Riley Hebert, Blake, Blaire, Ben and Brighton Sanders and Summer Juneau. He will also be dearly missed by countless friends and his prized pets, Saban, Nikita, Louie, and Narcisse. Gaston was preceded in death by beloved grandparents and his precious niece, Alyssa Hebert and loyal pets Bohdi, George and Pooh. Visitation will take place at Christian Life Fellowship, 2037 Quail Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Friday, June 21 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of Gastons life at 4:00 p.m. Guests are invited to fellowship after the service in the Christian Life dining hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Patriot Center at Christian Life Academy, Austin Pets Alive, Austin German Shepherd Rescue or St. Edwards University.
