Wayne Douglas Clement, age 73, a resident of Northlake, Texas, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 1, 2017 at 9:11 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Danielle Clement Thomas.
Wayne was the youngest of nine siblings, Vidrine, Alice, Juanita, Bettye, Halrey, Shirley, Arthur, and Pat. He was born June 13, 1944 to Lela Henderson Clement and Arthur Roy Clement at their residence in Denham Springs, La.
Wayne honorably served as a Military Police in the U. S. Army for four years, and was stationed in Korea, Alaska, and Fort Hood, Texas.
He was a graduate of Istrouma High School and Northwestern University, where he played football as a lineman, and helped lead Istrouma to win a state championship. He also attended Louisiana State University and graduated with a BS degree in Secondary Education.
Wayne had two marriages, his first marriage to Lavenda Schriefer produced one daughter and two grandchildren. His second marriage to Georgann Wolcott produced two children and five grandchildren.
He was a sales manager at Ditch Witch in Houston, Texas for twenty-one years and a salesman for heavy tractor equipment for Metrac in Atlanta, Ga for twenty years. Upon retirement, he went to work for the Lord founding the Revelation Celebration Ministry which brought food, clothes, prayer, and salvation to the homeless in the metro Atlanta area.
Wayne is survived by his children, Danielle Clement Thomas, George Douglas Clement, and Machelle Pitzer Sims; brother, Halrey Clement; sisters, Juanita Leonard and Bettye Clement Whittle; grandchildren, Ethan Thomas, Logan Thomas, Madeline Thomas, Megan Thomas, Nathan Thomas, Brock Sims, and Garrett Sims.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lela Henderson Clement and Arthur Roy Clement and his siblings Vidrine Clement, Alice Ogden, Shirley Miller, Arthur Clement, and Pat Thompson.
Visitation for Wayne will take place at Grangeville Baptist Church, 3599 LA-63 Pine Grove Louisiana 70453, on Saturday, October 7, 2017, from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. After the graveside service, there will be a repast for friends and family at the home of Wayne's sister, Juanita Leonard, at 15823 Peairs Road Pride Louisiana 70770.
Pallbearers will be Thomas "Art" Clement, Mark Clement, Daniel Clement, Ethan Thomas, and Logan Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers are Halery Clement and David Poirrier.
