Wanda A. Nichols

March 20, 1943 — March 28, 2025

Wanda Ann Nichols, age 82, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025.

Wanda was a certified Texas girl, an Army brat, and had perfected the Twist which earned her the nickname of Texas Twister. Wanda's life was filled with rich experiences, love, and service to others. Her journey, shaped by her military upbringing, education, marriage, and dedication to family, is a beautiful testament to resilience and devotion. She embraced life's challenges and joys with grace, whether it was moving to new places, nurturing her two children, loving on her grandchildren, or sharing her time and talents with those in need.

Later in life, Wanda found purpose through her involvement in Healing Place Church Cancer Ministry, where she was a source of comfort and strength for others. She was an avid gardener, a talented crocheter, and was lucky at Bingo.

Her years with her beloved Art, especially their 49 years of marriage, clearly formed a central part of her life. Even after his passing, she continued to carry his memory with her, as her mourning lasted nearly a decade, demonstrating the deep love they shared.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Cassandra “Sandy” Hayden (Luster); son, Alan D. Nichols (Lena); brother, Mark L. Nichols (Susie); grandchildren, Kip Nichols, Allyson H. Sonnier (Cody), Sarah H. Albarado (Ross), Eli N. Nichols, & Caleb B. Nichols.

Wanda was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 49 years, Arthur D. Nichols; grandson, Joshua T. Hayden; and parents, Lawrence G. Nichols and Fay E. Nichols.

Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. until Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date.
