He was a former employee of Allied Chemical and Superior Steel Inc. Survived by his wife, Mary Ann Sanchez; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sabrina and Ken Scritchfield, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Latina and Jim Douglas, of Hammond; four grandchildren, Joshua Scritchfield and wife Liz, of Memphis, Tenn., Shannon Gaudern and husband Zane, of Fort Walton Beach, Elizabeth Mumphrey, of Hammond, and Amber Mumphrey and friend Carleton Ellsworth, of Walker; two stepgrandchildren, Kawliga and Kyle Douglas, of Hammond; two great-grandchildren, Sara Scritchfield, of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Paul Mumphrey, of Watson; sister, Bonnie Rheams, of Wakefield; sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie and Joseph Easley, of Pride; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Viola Parker, of Tyler, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his son, Carlton Wayne Parker; mother and father, Elizabeth and Andrew Parker; five sisters, Cora Michelli, Jessie Sanders, Geneva Knippers, Hazel Sanders and Agnes Parker; and brother, Elton Parker. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until service at 9 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Donnie Easley. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Joshua Scritchfield, Ken Scritchfield, Carleton Ellsworth, James Rheams, Glenn Rheams, Joey Easley, Jeff Easley and Troy Sanders. Honorary pallbearer is Paul Mumphrey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Cardinal Hospice, Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area or a charity of choice.
