Wallace LeBlanc, 97, a lifelong resident of Crowley, Louisiana, went to rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 22, 2012. He was born in Roberts Cove, Louisiana, to his loving parents Simonette and Agathe LeBlanc whom have preceded him in death along with his sister Mella Simon, twin brother Willis LeBlanc., and grandaughter Stacey Beatty. He is survived by his devoted wife of 79 years Nasel Marcantel LeBlanc. Surviving Wallace along with Nasel are his sister Nedia Coleman of Crowley his daughters and their spouses Jeanne and Pat Beatty of Port Allen, Judy and Wally Robinson of Destin, Florida his sons and their spouses Lynn and Lynette Bateman LeBlanc of Baton Rouge, and Ronnie and Carol Johnson LeBlanc of Ruston. He is also remembered and loved by six grandchildren and twelve greatgrandchildren. Wallace was an exceedingly strong man spiritually and physically. He dedicated his life to Jesus Christ at a young age through the teachings of the Church of Christ, and he and his wife Nasel have been steadfast members of the Crowley Church of Christ. He worked hard throughout his life to live a virtuous and prosperous life for his Lord and family. He proudly spoke Cajun French as his mother tongue and was known to share many a goodhearted joke in French. He rejoiced in reading and knowing his French Bible and singing hymns of praise in Cajun French. One hymn dear to his heart was In the Sweet Bye and Bye. From his French hymnal. He was an avid hunter and treasured hunting on his property in Roberts Cove with his faithful dogs Rosie and Radar. He prided himself on being a great shot, rarely missing his target. Furthermore, Wallace was a carpenter, welder, plumber, and butcher. He built his own supermarket, LeBlancs Superette in Crowley, and garnered enough wealth there to travel the world with Nasel, visiting the Holy Land and many other locations in Europe. He will be greatly missed as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, but the reminiscence of his robust faith, good humor, and strong constitution will live on in the memory of his family and friends. Yes, we grieve but with the joyous knowledge that he rests with Christ. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26 at 9:00 a.m. until services at 12:00 noon, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, La., 70816, with a Christian burial to follow.
