W.O. Pee Wee Moss, resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at the age of 86. Pee Wee was born in Beaumont, Texas, and attended St. Anthonys Catholic School under the firm but gentle guidance of Sister Bertrand and the nuns there. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of WWII, earning 2 bronze stars in the American Theatre, AsiaticPacific. He attended LSU on scholarship and helped lead his team to a national championship as a Golden Gloves and NCAA champion boxer. He received his B.S. and Masters in Education at LSU and found his passion in coaching and teaching kids. After serving as assistant principal at Glen Oaks Junior High and principal at Kenilworth Middle School, he happily retired to enjoy dancing and traveling with Margie, fishing, golf, and time with beloved friends and family. He looked forward to football season every year and left us with this final wish, No need for tears or unhappiness. I have had a great life. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marjorie Holley Moss daughter, Trish Moss King and her husband Paul daughterinlaw, Julie Moss sisterinlaw, Dorothy Cornish grandchildren, Catie Moss McCluskey and husband Steve, Brandon King, Sean Moss and wife Alesha, and Ian King greatgrandchildren, Drew Michael McCluskey, Cade Joseph McCluskey, and Lyle Emory King. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Moss son, Michael J. Moss and brotherinlaw, Jack Cornish. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home,11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Monday, October 1, 2012 from 6 pm to 7 pm and will resume on Tuesday, October 2 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be: Sean Moss, Brandon King, Steve McCluskey, and Paul King. Honorary pallbearers are: Gerald Stewart, Jimmy Stewart, and Reggie Pevey.
