Vonley Daughtry

Vonley J. Daughtry, AKA The Candy Man, left us Monday, August 14, 2022 at the age of 91. He was a native of Baton Rouge, La.

Vonley is preceded in death by his Mother; Omie Langston, Father; Leroy Daughtry, Brother; Burdette Daughtry, and Sisters; Annette Wilcox and Nancy Gashio.

He is survived by his former Wife, lifelong love, and friend; Mittie Daughtry, Daughter; Deanna Daughtry Richardson-Miles, Grandson; Flash and Wife Savanna Richardson, Great-Granddaughters; Lillie Rae and Emery Elaine Richardson, and his lifelong friend Henry Conrad.

Pallbearers will be Michael Templet, Henry Martinez, Chuck Gashio, Byron Miles, Byron Sarrazin, and Flash Richardson. Honorary Pallbearer will be Gay Landry.

Special Thank You to Doctor Gerald Barber, long time family doctor and friend, The Hospice of Baton Rouge and Staff, Sweet Amy, Daddy’s Buddy LaMarla, My New Kindred Cat, and Daddy’s Shadowbrook Family for always loving and looking out for him.

Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 12:30 pm until service time at 2:30 pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
