“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28-30
Virginia “Ginger” Provost White, 84, resident of Plaquemine, LA, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Thursday, May 13, 2021. Ginger was born in New Iberia, LA to Norbert and Euzeide Provost.
Ginger was committed to her faith, family, and friends with a desire to be outside in nature and to dance as often as possible. We imagine she is dancing west coast swing, cha cha or other ballroom dances with all in heaven, including her husband of 42 years, Frank. Heaven will enjoy the spice she adds to any occasion.
Ginger is survived by her daughters, Debra Ann White Lockwood and husband, William “Bill” Lockwood, and Virginia Frances White; sons, Woodrow Norbert “Bert” White, and Joel Warren White and fiancé, Lisa L. Melancon; grandchildren, Justin (Kelly) White, Jordan White, Sarah Lockwood, and Adam Lockwood; sisters-in-law, Bertie (Tommy) Boudreaux and Beverly White; brothers-in-law, Gordie (Penny) White and Billy (Jane) White.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Warren White; mother, Euzeide Marie Provost; and father, Norbert A. Provost; sister, Beatrice Provost McKenzie; brothers, Curtis Provost, Perry Provost, and Richard Provost: mother-in-law, Alberta Carlin White; and father-in-law, Woodrow White; and brother-in-law, Garland “Polk” White.
