Virginia Wedig

May 16, 1924 — March 6, 2009

Virginia was a retired technical secretary for CIBA-Geigy Corp. where she had worked for many years. She passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 84 and a native of Milwaukee. She attended Polaski School in Milwaukee and enjoyed educating herself for approximately six college years as she liked to refer to Allen Bradley in New York City. She fully enjoyed painting and having fun. She also had a wonderful sense of humor. Memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 8833 Goodwood Blvd., on Friday, March 13, at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Gleason and the Rev. Matt Lorrain. Inurnment in the chapel columbarium. A reception at her daughter's home will follow. She is survived by a daughter, Christine Jones and husband Troy; and grandchildren, Hansen and Hunter Jones; a son, Patrick Givan and wife Pamela, grandchildren, Shannon Walsweer and Meredith Quenzer; and great-grandchild, Marco Walsweer. Preceded in death by her brother, Sonny; second husband, Walter G. Wedig; first husband, Kenneth Givan; parents, Stanley Vebaniak and Elizabeth Turbish; brother, Jimmy; and daughter, Cathleen E. Givan. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Conners and staff at CVT Surgical Center and Alicia and Connie from the fifth floor. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
