Virginia Bonanno

Virginia “Lou” Bonanno, a native of Gretna, LA, and a resident of Central, LA, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at the age of 81.

Lou was the owner of Donnie’s Furniture Repair and Refinishing for 50 years. She was a member of St Alphonsus Church and enjoyed being with her family and going to the Casino.  She truly enjoyed being with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lou is survived by her children and spouses, Debbie and Karl Meyer, Cheryl Glass, Donna and Carl Guy, Brenda and Bill Miller, Lisa Bonanno, Darryl Bonanno and Susan Scroggs, Donnie and Samantha Bonanno, and Chris and Jill Bonanno; her grandchildren, Tricia Lemoine, Melissa DeCook, Brandon Glass, Corey Robillard, Matthew Miller, Jamie Jurisich, Jessica and Kaylie Carlino, Jennifer Lieux, Makayla, Riley, Cale, and Briar Bonanno; her step-grandchildren, Keith Sanchez, Kim and Cory Guy, Jamie Tanner; her great-grandchildren, Taylor Boykin, Justin Pate, Adelynn and Drake DeCook, Tinley and Everly Glass, Dylan and JT Marino, Mia, Isaiah, Zachary, Morgan, and Julianna Guy, Maddox and MacKenzie Jurisich, Jaiden Krejci, Preston and Michael Cangelosi and Taylor Paige; and her brother, Larry Tillotson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dominic J Bonanno; her parents, Virginina Olano and Frank Tillotson; and her granddaughter, Mandy Emanuel; her son-in-law, Bennie Glass; her sister, Janice (Minnie) Cooper; and her brother, Frank Tillotson.

Visitation will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA, on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd, Greenwell Springs, LA, on January 15, 2019 from 9:00 am until funeral mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
