Vilean Kirkwood Boudreaux

Vilean Kirkwood Boudreaux was called home to celebrate her birthday on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the age of 97. She was born October 14, 1926, in Zachary, Louisiana to Ramey Kirkwood, Sr. and Viola Davis Kirkwood.  Vilean was a member of Broadmoor Methodist Church, and she worked in the food services industry, providing meals for children in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System and at Godchauxs.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert Morris Boudreaux and her siblings, Lucile McDaniel, Rachael Stafford, Susie Lee Lowry, Vida Mae Longmire, Rean Kirkwood, John L. Kirkwood, Ramey Kirkwood, Jr. and Haley Lee Kirkwood. Vilean is survived by her daughter, Janis “Jan” Summers and son-in-law Kirk Summers; her grandchildren, Janell Pellichino and husband, Rex, and Laurie Malone and husband, Pat; her great-grandchildren, Justin Pellichino and wife, Kailey, Brandon Pellichino and Fiance, Kindra, Megan Pellichino, Caitlin Malone and Ryan Malone; her great-great-grandchildren, Kannon and Kaelin Pellichino; her siblings, Minnie Jackson, and Ira Lane Kirkwood; and other members of her much loved family, Johnny Yarbrough, Les Summers, and Jessi Moyed and family.

Known for her infectious sense of joy, Vilean loved sewing, traveling, dancing, and cooking. She also loved spending time with her family and was a proud matriarch to 5 generations of her family.

The family invites friends and extended family to a Visitation on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until funeral services begin at 2:30 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge.  Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
