Victoria Iverstine

Victoria “Vicky” Candiotto  Iverstine peacefully passed away on Dec. 11,2020, at her home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Vicky lived a full life of 90 years as she dedicated her love to her family and to her life’s work in education.  She received a degree in Education from Southeastern Louisiana University and later obtained her Master’s degree at Louisiana State University.  She was an outstanding teacher in her field for 40 plus years and promoted the advancement of education as a long-term member of Kappa Kappa Iota.

Vicky will be greatly missed by her 4 children, Thomas John Iverstine, Dr. Jim Iverstine (Terri), Jack Iverstine (Brenda), and Jennifer Iverstine.  She cherished any time she could spend with her 6 grandchildren, Trey Iverstine, Wade Iverstine (Jenny), Casey Iverstine Morris (Dallas), Andrew Iverstine (Erica), Todd Iverstine, and Galen Iverstine (Angela).  She was graced with life’s rich blessing of knowing her 10 great-grandchildren (Rose, Paul, Avery, Andi Jane, West, Margaret, and Hanlon Iverstine, Evelyn, Easton, and Sydney Morris).  She is also survived by her three sisters, Alyne Anzalone, Hope Estopinal, and Faith Moreau.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Iverstine; her parents, Tom Candiotto and Mary Newman Candiotto; brothers Charles “Sonny”, Victor and Jack Candiotto. Great grandson, John David Iverstine.

The Family would like to especially thank Patrice Williams and Diana Morrison for the great care given to Vicky during her final year and to Canon Hospice.  Additional expression of thanks to her Niece, Barbara Candiotto for the support and kindness she provided.  Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral home on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 12:30 p.m. until Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
