Vernon Marbury Biossat, age 71, a resident of Watson, LA, passed away on October 6, 2018. He worked in the Casino industry in Las Vegas for 45+ years and most recently Gunsmithing in Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Purple Heart recipient serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. He most enjoyed his membership in the Marine Corps Riders in Las Vegas for many years. Vernon is survived by his spouse, Brenda McArthur Biossat; brothers Stephen Rushing Biossat Jr, William Franklin Biossat (Charmaine), John Grafton Biossat (Janice); sister Rebecca Biossat Richardson (Harold); mother-in-law Janice S McArthur; brother-in-law Henry McArthur Jr Biff; and sister-in-law Penny McArthur Weber (Frank); and various nieces, nephews, and greats. Vernon is preceded in death by his parents Stephen Rushing and Martha Grafton Biossat, and father-in-law Henry W. McArthur Sr. Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven on Jefferson Hwy in Baton Rouge on Thursday October 11, 2018, from 12 noon until services at 2pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven. Pallbearers will be William Tracy Richardson, William F Biossat, Jonathan L Biossat, Biff McArthur, Frank Weber, Ryan W Richardson, Micah DeLee, and Christopher Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Disabled Veterans or Cancer Society.
