She lived with her daughter in Pride and died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. She was 90 and a native of Kilmichael, Miss. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Nov. 28, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and in the chapel on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Paul Raiford, pastor. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Letha H. Brignac, Linda H. and Tommy Akins, and Carolyn A. Henson; four sons and three daughters-in-law, M.C. and Betty Jo Henson, Sammy Goose and Barbara Henson, Joseph Tippy Henson and Glen Doy Edward and Mary Lynne Henson; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty Ruth and Sonny Crouch; a brother and sister-in-law, Hudson and Betty Sue Chesteen; 23 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Henson; grandson, Joseph Blake Manske; great-granddaughter, Emily Henson; son-in-law, Percy Brignac; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Lou Henson; parents, David and Iva Arlin Chesteen; two sisters, Louise Boyette and Sarah Chesteen; and brother, Lloyd Chesteen. Pallbearers will be Ricky Lynn Henson, Gary Wayne Henson, Samuel Dane Henson, Darrell Glen Henson, Ronald Dean Henson, Anthony Brignac, Ricky Dale Henson and Jerry Ben Dominick II. Honorary pallbearer is Gordon Harrell for all the help he gave to Maw Maw Henson. Special thanks to all the caregivers, especially Claudina, Caster and Mona, for the care they gave to Maw Maw, and the Jane Garrison quilting class. She was baptized at Immanuel Baptist Church.
