Valerette Fonner

Valerette “Val” P. Fonner passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Val was born March 28, 1927 to Iona Kennedy Phillips and Rufus Eldridge Phillips in Delhi, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana College in Pineville, LA where she met John “Jack” H. Fonner, Jr. Val and Jack were married on June 15, 1946. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Val is survived by three daughters Karen Snowberger (Stephen), Jackie Guillot, and Debbie Breland (Robert); five grandchildren Eric Snowberger (Aletha), Michael Snowberger, Victoria Coleman and fiancé Tyler, Mallory Williams (Christopher), and Jared Breland (Anna); ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 47 years; brother, Eldridge Phillips; sisters, Dorothy Bradley, Frances Edwards, Lillie Reynolds; and son-in-law David Guillot.  Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.  A Graveside Service will be held in Delhi, LA at Delhi Masonic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Valerette’s name to your favorite charity.
