"Moonshadow"
Written by: Jenna D'Shay Babin
'When I was young girl
I knew more to life than most
My mother sang for our supper
And Honee looked after us
My mother had a brother
He was perfect in her eyes
You wouldn't know it if you saw him
And it never changed my mind
It was a special treat to travel
To see my Uncle Ty
Playing his guitar in his condo
It was Florida at the time.
He would practice all night long singing songs I've never heard
And the one that stuck out the most
Had the most beautiful word...
Moonshadow, oh moonshadow... the brightest night star you've ever seen, Nobody ever thinks beyond the glamour and the gleam. So Just when you believe that you know about me... even the moon has a shadow that you never see.. He sparkles and shines just like this sweet sweet melody...'
Uncle Ty was such a sweet and kind soul. A talented man who started out as a football star, (he excelled in many sports from a very young age), He went on to pursue a career as a paramedic & EMT in his early adulthood. He loved LSU, the beach, & music and taught himself how to play guitar; "knowing well over 100 songs." He loved to serenade anyone who would listen, by choosing a song from a huge notebook of his proudly handwritten collection. He is preceded in death by his father, Claude Babin, and grandparents, Wilson 'Gro' & Pearl Babin, & Leonce & Angelina Guedry, & step-grandmother, Lillie Belle Hernandez. He is survived by his beloved & devoted mother, Gloria Hernandez, & step-father, Harry Hernandez, his sister, De'Sha Babin, step-brother, Robbie Hernandez (Angela Hernandez), God-daughter & niece, Jenna D'Shay Babin, nephew, Colton Dimaio (Laurielle Dubroc), step-niece, Samantha Hernandez, great niece, Ainsley Rushing, great nephew, Blaze Dimaio, & his lifelong best friend, Brad Marionneaux (Jennifer), & numerous family & friends.
