Troy Pourciau

Troy Steven Pourciau has left the pain of his earthly body behind and rushed into the arms of Jesus to live in eternity. He was born on March 29, 1963 and died on February 15, 2017.

Troy was a father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to so many. He lived his life believing in the goodness of others. The brightest lights in his life were his three beautiful daughters.

Troy is survived by his children, Haven, Camryn, and McKaylee, as well as their mother and his former wife Beverly Corbin Pourciau; his parents, Samuel and Jewell (Blouin) Pourciau; a brother and sister-in-law, Todd and Mary Pourciau; a sister and brother-in-law, Tami and Rudd Bennett; his nieces and nephews: Mattie P. Garza, Dillon Teal, Alison Pourciau, Ashley T. Willis, Camille Pourciau, and Riley Bennett; former father-in-law William Corbin, Jr.

Troy was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Fellman and Mattie (Gautreau) Blouin, paternal grandparents, Wallace Sr. and Agnes (Jarreau) Pourciau, and former mother-in-law Alma M. Corbin.

Troy graduated from Broadmoor High School in 1981 where he was a member of the Buccaneers football team. He attended one year at Louisiana State University. He loved the LSU Tigers and attended many games in Death Valley. Troy's love of sports lead him to coach multiple sports at Parkview Baptist for nearly 10 years. Troy took full advantage of the beautiful Louisiana outdoors and was a frequent hunter and fisherman. He also loved drag racing and took home a number of trophies over the years. Troy was an entrepreneur and owned Lagniappe Automotive and Tire. He was in the auto parts business for over 30 years. His additional business accomplishments include: a graduate of the General Motors College for Parts Managers, ASE Parts Certified, Mitsubishi Motors Parts Certified and he had completed Dale Carnegie Training. Although cancer took his life, Troy never gave up, nor complained about his plight. He simply took the time to create memories with his family and friends that will last forever.

The family would like to thank Dr. Cataldo, Dr. Bienvenu, Dr. Lo and Dr. Russell and the staff at St. Joseph Hospice and The Carpenter's House.

Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 5-8 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge, on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11 AM. Graveside service to follow at Resthaven.

Pallbearers will be Bo Amos, Lee Corbin, Phillip Lamonte, Jeff LeJeune, Tim Mayeaux, and Dillon Teal.

Honorary pallbearers are Paul Blouin (Godfather), Genevieve Pourciau Aguillard (Godmother), and Wayne Stablier.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donations be made to the Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, St. Joseph Hospice, or The Carpenter House.
