A resident of Prairieville, he passed away on Friday, Aug. 21, 2009. He was 65 and a native of Baton Rouge. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mildred Patsy Lenze; son, Troy H. Lenze; daughter-in-law, Amy Lenze; grandson, Trent H. Lenze; mother, Lois Cloud; and sisters, Claudette Wiede and Kay Moehle. He is also survived by loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas H. Lenze Sr.; stepfather, Loyd Cloud; and grandparents, Henry and Amanda Lenze and John and Lena Martinez. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, Aug. 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting resumes on Monday, Aug. 24, at 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Pallbearers will be Bobby Depew, George Griggs, Michael Griggs, John Rieken, Earl Achord and Shane Myers. He was employed as an electric engineering construction project manager by Scientific Research Corp. for the U.S. State Department on the U.S. embassy project in Karachi, Pakistan. He was a 1961 graduate of Istrouma High School. Following his graduation, he served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He played football for Coach Fuzzy Brown and the Istrouma Indians and at USL for the Ragin' Cajuns. He truly loved the game of football. He was a diehard LSU and Saints fan, but he loved all sports. He was a true sports fan Tommy was a wonderful storyteller who always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He traveled the world with his wife and son.
