Thomas “Tom” Haralson Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, pastor, and church planter, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and service. Throughout his life, Tom was deeply committed to his family, his faith, and his mission to spread the Kingdom of God.
Tom was the beloved husband of Teresa Haralson, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage. Together, they raised three children who were the pride of his life: James Haralson (Kaitlyn), Marie (Plato), and Thomas Haralson Jr. (Tabitha). He was a proud grandfather to Sawyer, Easton, Lucas, August, and Aurora, whose lives he enriched with wisdom and love. Tom also leaves behind his sister, Jackie, (Ronnie) with whom he shared a close bond throughout his life, and his nieces and nephew.
A man of unwavering faith, Tom dedicated his ministry to planting churches and mentoring pastors, with a deep passion for developing leaders. He believed in the power of guidance, spiritual growth, and leadership development, and his dedication to these causes touched countless lives, fostering strength and growth in others.
Tom’s influence was felt far beyond his immediate family, as he nurtured relationships with many who sought his counsel and support. His life was a testament to the power of faith and the importance of service, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
Though he has left this world, the memory of Tom’s kindness, wisdom, and dedication to his faith will continue to inspire all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many lives he helped shape through his ministry.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. in Baton Rouge. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the service following at 2:30 p.m.
