Thomas John Graner
Thomas John Graner, age 73, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and long-time resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at The Carpenter House.
He graduated from De LaSalle High School of New Orleans and Louisiana State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. In 1999, after almost 30 years of service he retired from Agrico Chemical. He was an avid amateur photographer and member of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity and the Louisiana Photographic Society.
Thomas is survived by his wife and soulmate, Lynne Hutchinson Graner; children, Kimberly Froehle and husband Todd of Lewisville, TX, and John Graner and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Madison Louise and Emma Lynne Graner of Fulshear, TX; siblings, Margaret Broussard and husband Ed, William Graner, Jr. and wife Marilyn, and Paul Graner; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Inez B. Graner.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 1:00 PM until the time of services.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home at 3:00 PM.
Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include, Eliot Labbe, Ed Lundin, Don Tranchina, Rhom Hutchinson, Morris Simmons, Pat Beard, Walter Imahara, and Phil Berthelot.
Memorial contributions can be made in Thomas John Graner's name to St. Joseph Hospice Foundation or Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude of the loving and attentive care from his special friend, Dr. Susan L. Richarme, and her wonderful staff, also many thanks to the great care he received from the staff at The Carpenter House.
