Thomas P. Duval, Sr.
Baton Rouge, Louisiana – Thomas P. Duval, Sr. passed away on September 30, 2019 at Baton Rouge General Hospital surrounded by his family. His passing came after a short battle with
Idiopathic Interstitial Pulmonary Disease.
Born at Fort Banks in Massachusetts on December 26, 1940 and raised in various location in Massachusetts, Pisa, Italy and Manchester, NH. He was the son of the late Edward and Nora Duval. He was the loving husband of the late Patricia (Purcell) Duval.
He graduated from Central High School in Manchester, NH in 1959. After high school he served in the US Navy. After serving with the Navy, Tom had the opportunity to work for Chrysler Capital in several locations until his retirement.
Mr. Duval was passionate about his family. He also enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He enjoyed shooting craps, and cruising. He will be remembered by his children and grandchildren for his special talent for being able to fix anything (even when he couldn’t get it running), and for inventing his own card game.
Family members include three children, Tom Duval, Jr and his wife Nancy (Melvin) Duval of Shreveport, LA; Beth Duval, of Cocoa Beach, FL; and Brian Duval and Leah (Salsbury) Duval of Baton Rouge, LA; his grandchildren Thomas Duval,III and his wife Nikki of Raeford, NC; Gregory Duval of Shreveport, LA; Steven Miller and his wife Tonya of Birmingham, AL; Christopher Miller of Cocoa Beach, FL; Carson and Jacob Duval of Baton Rouge, LA; his great granddaughters Isabel and Alexandria Duval of Shreveport, LA; his brothers Eddie and his wife Linda of Manchester, NH, Michael Duval of Manchester, NH; Jim Duval and his wife Thoa of Manchester, NH; his sisters Mary Raiche and her husband Bob of Cocoa Beach, FL; Anne Dwyer of Manchester, NH; Jeanne Corbett and her husband Jim of Manchester, NH; Kathy Desjardin of Manchester, NH; Patty Clancy of Concord, NH; Virginia Poulios of Manchester, NH and her husband Alan; Theresa Duval of Manchester, NH.; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great, great nieces and nephews. Tom also leaves behind his companion of several years, Pam Garrett Landry of Baton Rouge, LA.
A funeral service was held October 3 from Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, with a private burial.
