Thomas Carl Dietrich, 75, born in Baton Rouge, La passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014, after a four year dogfight with Myelofibrosis. Carl was treated with special care at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He was a 1956 graduate of Catholic High School and a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his honey of 53 years, Dolores Ruiz Dietrich his five daughters and sonsinlaw, Christine and Louis Greenblatt, Lorraine and Fred Crifasi, Laura and David Guillory, Julie and Rich Abadie, and Sharon and John McElwain. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, who brought happiness to his life daily, Ethan Greenblatt and his wife Ashton, Erinn Greenblatt, Celia, Daniel and Anna Crifasi, Beau and Lily Abadie, and John Patrick and Colin McElwain. Survived by his brother, Russell Dietrich his sisters, Lodena Rivett, Jane Lambert, Mary Claire Garrene, Catherine LeBouef, and Barbara Albarez.
Preceded in death by his parents, C.H. and Marguerite Dietrich and brothers, C.H., Jr., Milton, Bill, Stewart, Donald and Vernon.
Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM, and will resume at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 9:30 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM, conducted by Father Phil Spano. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sandra J. Schulze American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 411 Second Street NW, Rochester, MN 55901.
