Thomas Chambers

Thomas Halsell Chambers, 81, passed away quietly in his sleep on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, in Baton Rouge. A private burial is planned. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Julianne Goldy Chambers; son and daughter-in-law, David and Jean Ann Dunbar Chambers, of Powder Springs, Ga.; and daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Mark Vornkahl, of Baton Rouge. He was Tom Tom to his five grandchildren, Brian, Jeffrey and Christopher Chambers and Michael and Jennifer Vornkahl. He moved to Baton Rouge in 2008 from Huntsville, Texas, and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, Baton Rouge. He was retired from Gulf Oil Corp. and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was much loved and will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Good Shepherd Mission, 1005 Martin Luther King Drive, Huntsville, TX 77320.
